Hidan is a character featured in the anime series *Naruto Shippuden*. He is a member of the Akatsuki, a criminal organization composed of powerful ninja.

Hidan distinguishes himself through his devotion to the Jashin religion, a faith that glorifies destruction and demands sacrifice. This belief influences his fighting style, which involves inflicting pain on himself to link his fate with his opponent through a ritual. By drawing a Jashin symbol on the ground and ingesting his opponent's blood, Hidan can essentially use himself as a voodoo doll, causing damage to his adversary whenever he injures himself.

Hidan is partnered with Kakuzu, another Akatsuki member, who is often annoyed by Hidan's religious zealotry and the time-consuming rituals. Despite his immortality, gained through Jashin rituals, Hidan is eventually defeated and buried alive. Hidan first appears in *Naruto Shippuden* Episode 71.
